Installation · Atlanta, GA

Man weave installation in Atlanta, done in one private appointment.

Your fitting day is where a hair unit either disappears or gives itself away. We prep, attach, cut and style your unit in one private appointment, so you walk out looking like yourself. No surgery and no recovery time.

What happens on fitting day

Most installs take 2 to 3 hours. You are the only client in the room, so nothing is rushed and nobody is waiting on your chair. Here is how the time is spent.

We start by checking the unit against your head and your hair. If anything needs adjusting, such as the shape, the density at the front or the length, it is sorted before the unit goes on. Then we prep the scalp, attach the unit, cut it into your natural hair and style it the way you like it. You leave the same day with the finished look.

  • Check and prep. The scalp is cleaned and the area is marked out so the unit sits exactly where it should.
  • Attachment. The unit is bonded on with the method that suits your skin, your routine and how active you are.
  • Cut-in. The unit is cut into your existing hair so the sides, back and hairline read as one head of hair.
  • Styling. A fade, waves, a part or a textured crop, finished before you leave.

How to prepare before you come in

There is not much to do, but a few small things help. Come with clean, product-free hair and scalp. If you have hair on the sides and back, leave it as it is. We will blend your unit to your hair as it grows now, not as it looked after last week's cut.

Bring photos of the look you want. A picture of a hairline, a fade or a wave pattern tells us more than a description does. If you are wearing your own style at the moment, tell us what you like and dislike about it. Wear a top that is easy to take on and off, because you will be in the chair for a couple of hours.

If you have a sensitive scalp, any allergies to adhesives or a skin condition, say so at your consultation so the right attachment method is chosen from the start.

Choosing an attachment method

There is no single best way to attach a unit. The right bond depends on the base you choose, how often you want to take the unit off and what your week looks like. Your specialist will recommend one at your consultation and explain the trade-off.

A stronger bond holds through hard training and swimming but needs more careful removal. A lighter bond is gentler on the skin and easier to refresh, but it asks more of you in the gym and the shower. With the right method you can exercise, shower and swim. We will tell you honestly which one fits your lifestyle.

The base matters too. Lace, skin (poly) and hybrid bases each sit and wear differently, which we cover in more detail on our hair systems page.

Your first week after installation

The first week is when you learn how your unit behaves. Treat it gently, and it settles in fast. Be careful when you towel dry, brush or pull on tops and hoods. Use only the products your specialist recommends, because heavy oils and some styling products can weaken a bond.

Wash and style it normally. A hair unit is built to be washed, and keeping the scalp and base clean is part of what makes it last. If an edge lifts, do not pick at it. Leave it alone and book a visit.

Most units last 3 to 6 months, and the way you look after it in the early days has a big effect on where in that range yours lands. Plan your first maintenance visit before you leave, because maintenance every 2 to 4 weeks keeps the unit secure and natural.

What an installation costs

Most hair units cost $250 to $750 depending on the base, hair length, texture and quality. Maintenance visits typically run $75 to $200. Your exact price is confirmed at your consultation, before you commit to anything. For a full breakdown, see our man weave cost guide.

From first conversation to fitting day, most men take two to three weeks. It depends on whether your unit is in stock or custom ordered. If you already own a unit, bring it. We will prep, cut and install it with the same care as one we order for you.

FAQ

Man weave installation questions, answered.

Do I need to shave or cut my hair before my fitting?

No. Come as you are. Your unit is cut into your existing hair, so we want to see how it looks now and blend to it.

Will it hurt?

Installation is not surgical, so there are no cuts and no recovery time. Tell your specialist if anything feels uncomfortable and they will adjust it on the spot.

Can I go back to work the next day?

Yes. There is no downtime. You leave with the finished look and carry on with your week.

Can I install a unit I bought elsewhere?

Yes. Bring it to your consultation. We will check the base, density and fit, then prep, cut and install it. See our hair systems page for what to look for.

What should I avoid right after installation?

Avoid heavy oils, rough towel drying and pulling at the edges. Your specialist will give you a short list of products that suit your bond.

How soon can I book my first maintenance visit?

Book it on fitting day. Visits are every 2 to 4 weeks, and the right gap for you depends on your base, your bond and how active you are.
